it's good that they're getting punishment for their actions but I'm upset with the idea of these girls getting locked up for 65 years when they're younger than me

if they are convicted, they might as well kill themselves because there would be no point in living in prison for basically their entire lives and getting released when they're little old ladies with no home, no job, no family, no education, and no money

what they did is wrong, and nothing can change that or lessen its wrong-ness, but locking these girls up for most of their lives is not the way to handle this.

I can tell you right now that the mental healthcare system in the hospital is bullstuff. The system just makes forgeted up people more adept at manipulating others. I don't think there's hope of rehabilitation if one is willing to spill blood over a creepypasta.

I somehow doubt that locking them away for 65 years will do anything different aside from getting them killed. Keep in mind these are impressionable 12 year old kids.

But how many 12 year olds have attempted murder before? There are a hell of a lot of kids exposed to creepypastas, violent movies, games, and music, and very few of them actually try to kill people. Those who do need to have an example made of them. If they're willing to take a life, they should be willing to accept the consequences.

I'm just gonna say: killing someone over an internet horror story with your friend is not how the mind of a healthy person operates. adult court may be a necessity but to put a couple of twelve year olds away until they're 30 doesn't sound like the right thing to do.

dont get me wrong, jail time would be a good solution to the problem. keep them out of society for a few years to think about how bad killing people is and when they come back hopefully they'll be fine. however, killing people for an internet scary story isn't the machinations of a healthy mind. there's no promise that isolating a couple of mentally ill children for a few years is going to healthy for them.
i suppose it shouldn't be healthy, but i feel like there's basically no right answer to this problem.

from my experience with psych wards, there are some really forgeted up people in there and they don't learn how to love, feel, or regret. All they learn is how to manipulate people more effectively. I'd rather just have them out of society than waste time trying to rehabilitate them. It's clear that they lack empathy and do not regret their actions. Any regret is feigned and intended to deceive.
