Author Topic: would you get a ps4 or a xbox one?  (Read 4613 times)

ah, it begins
what begins, a string of "he's right about him being right?"
maybe

Except that it's out of stock

Yeah, no. Don't try to make up and push your own facts, the best buy near me still has several to sell, and as someone else said they are still being sold second hand very cheap too. If I had $500 to casually blow I'd go there tomorrow and get it. But that's not realistic.

I mainly have a ps4 cause of nostalgia, with having owned the PS1, 2, and 3.

I don't want to sound like a fanboy here or anything, but the exclusives I've played for Playstation are really really good,  The Last of Us being a big one, and the free games they offer with PS plus are good too.

Because the bestbuy website is wrong anyway if the stock of samsung tvs did sell out it starts bundling them with other 40 inch tvs like insignia.

i feel like this is a sign that everyone should be ignoring this guy

Read through some posts on r/xboxone then

Uhh, no, I'll pass on your offer, thanks.

PS4 is probably going to have the advantage of more fight games later down the line, alongside Japanese games, etc. etc. in addition to practically every other Western developed game out there. Really there's no reason to get an Xbone unless you really like Halo, because that's the only actual, non-timed Xbone exclusive.

Also indies. Microsoft has poor relations with Xbone indie developers because the process of getting a game on the Xbone marketplace is apparently a lot more confusing and irritating to go through.

What? You're forgetin' stupid, no offense, the PS4 is markedly stronger than the Xbone in the graphical department. The reason most Xbox games are 900p is because the console is too weak to handle 1080p.
You do realize that 1080p games on PS4 are usually locked at 30, right? I'd rather have a 60 fps at 900p than 30 fps at 1080p

There's also Gears of War.
Although you mentioned Halo, there's The Master Chief Collection (Halo 1/2/3/ODST/4), Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2.
Fable: Legends (although this is kind of hard to get excited for given Fable's trend towards mediocrity)
State of Decay (although on PC and 360)
Zoo Tycoon (although on 360) :3

There aren't as many big franchise exclusives at the moment though I suppose.

To be honest though, I don't really mind. The types of Exclusives that PlayStation has are generally things I don't like.
I like my Xbox One. I'm comfortable with the console and the controller, happy with the state of Xbox Live, happy that most of my friends have Xboxes, and I'm happily embedded in my Gamertag/score.

There is literally no game in existence that runs at 60 fps on the Xbox One that runs at 30 fps on the PS4. Are you pulling this stuff out of your ass?

As an example, Battlefield Hardline runs at about 60 frames per second on both the PS4 and the Xbox One, while the PS4 renders the game at 900p, while the Xbox One renders the game at 720p.

Hell, The Last of Us Remastered gives you an option to switch between 30 and 60 FPS in exchange for pretty shadows. I don't think any other current-gen console game has given you an ability, albeit limited, to change the graphics options of a game.

There's also Gears of War.
GOW Ultimate Edition is going to come out on PC- if that's any precedent, perhaps GOW 4 will come out on PC as well.

EDIT: said "current-gen" game. if i recall correctly bioshock on the ps3 gave you the option to turn vsync off.

And a good portion of the ones listed as "Console" are just for PS3/PS4. Don't feel like crawling through them all.
These lists are also stuff because they pretend PC doesn't exist. As seen with Space Engineers under the Xbone section. That game is already on PC and isn't even out yet on Xbone, yet it says timed exclusive for Xbone.

Either way, PS4 has 45 games labelled "Yes", where Xbone only has 53 games listed in total, only 18 of those labelled "Yes".

Well thanks to a best buy bundle the xbone is apparently worth $20

That's not how package deals work.

Idk if this is what you meant but in halo mcc you can switch between classic graphics and remastered ones for the halo 2 campaign
