Author Topic: Do you still consider the XBOX One and PS4 "next gen" or "current gen"  (Read 2495 times)

Just a quick question, as in would you say "this game is for next gen consoles" or "this game is for current gen consoles" in terms of the xbone and ps4

current gen
...because that's what it is

Well I suppose current gen, but really I'd just name the console in a discussion.
"This game is for Xbox One/PS4".

It's still next gen from the perspective of when it was made, so yes

Basically it won't be current gen until it is the majority of consoles

Next gen is just another stupid ass buzzword. It's current gen, because its whats being currently used. The only somewhat applicable way I can see next gen being used is during the transition from past console to the newer console. Its been 2 years since the Xbone and PS4 have been released, stop calling it "next gen".

Current gen

If they were not released yet I would call them next gen

Any gen is last gen compared to the powerful, limitless realm of PC gaming

Any gen is last gen compared to the powerful, limitless realm of PC gaming
this

Until they actually go as far to outsell and replace the PS3 and XBOX 360 or for Sony and Microsoft to stop supporting the PS3/360, I still consider them next gen.

______ generation refers to consoles, silly butts.

PC's will always have the advantage because they are customizable and not set to one regulated design.

They literally are the current gen.
I've mostly used the term "next gen" sarcastically.

Next gen is just another stupid ass buzzword.
is "current gen" somehow better

they are current generation consoles because they are the most recent released generation of consoles. the unannounced unreleased consoles of the next couple years are next generation consoles.
