Author Topic: Do you still consider the XBOX One and PS4 "next gen" or "current gen"  (Read 2480 times)

logically speaking they are current gen, but next gen is a common buzzword. just like 'literally' and 'figuratively'

They are last gen at best...
When they were brand new they had outdated stuffty hardware.
Ps3 and 360 days this wasnt so much the deal. But these new systems really are crap. And they are holding the entire gaming industry back.

Just a quick question, as in would you say "this game is for next gen consoles" or "this game is for current gen consoles" in terms of the xbone and ps4
I would say current gen, same as the Xbox 360 and PS3. The reason I say this is because of the fact that game companies are still focusing on putting their games on PS3/X360 as well as XOne/PS4. Once companies let go of PS3/X360, then it will be a truly next-gen experience. Though we are getting Next-gen games like Forza 6, Halo 5: Guardians, Uncharted 4, and Star Wars: Battlefront, deveolopers are still focusing on previous gen as well as next-gen.

Well, as we saw from E3 mainly, fewer and fewer games are being released for PS3 and 360, aside from CoD and the like. I say they have a little over a year maximum.

In terms of advancing from xbox 360 or ps3 to xbox one and ps4, "Next Gen"

In terms of describing what they are currently. "Current Gen". Because that's what we currently use.

But everyone with a good gaming rig knows them as "Past Past Past Gen" ;)

They are the same thing with slightly better graphics.

they're current gen at best, last gen at worst
