Author Topic: Anyone Else Watching the Meteor Shower?  (Read 1824 times)

I went out and saw I think 1 but it was out of the corner of my vision so idk. It smelt like skunk outside cause it probably got spooked by something in the woods, so I went back in.

Skunks actually smell good to me

Edit:

I went outside for a few minutes and counted 3 or 4. There were two annoying distant planes that kept distracting me though so I undoubtedly missed some.

The biggest one I saw was on the horizon and I could've sworn it was big enough to make impact.

i saw like 1 or 2 meteors then it stopped

eh

I didn't spend long out, but I saw 2 last night and my parents saw 4 or 5.
First time in about 3 years that we've had clear skies for the Perseids.

The Milky Way was also very faintly visible as a slightly light smudge.

I could see a few meteors. There were a few last night over here, and there's going to be more visible tonight at 11pm to 1am.

Couldn't see it in Buenos Aires. Too cloudy + rain. The english poisoned our airspace with their stuffty weather. This was going on for about two weeks straight.

I definitely need a reclining lawn chair or some sort of neck-cushion though, because staring up like that seriously hurts my neck.
We've got a tall tree in our garden and the meteors come from directly behind it, so I have to tilt my head back quite far to see them come over the tree.

girlfriend and I and another couple friends climbed up on her garage roof and watch it. We saw some really really good ones too

it was even visible in the netherlands but i couldn't see it properly due to light pollution. did see some stars though, which is also rare

you can see the stars incredibly well here because there is almost zero light pollution but the best place I've ever saw the stars was about 2 weeks ago when I was on Cadillac mountain in Bar Harbor Maine and that was amazing

I saw plenty of meteors
it was cool
didn't get any pics tho :(

Watched outside last night around 10-11PM with my girlfriend. We were in the front yard in a freestanding hammock, facing Northeast.

It was slightly foggy but we managed to see at least 5 or 6 meteorites, one of which was a mega loving fireball and one of which was distinctly weird a f.

It was pretty rad, I'm sure had we stayed out later and it not gotten foggy there would have been tons more, one a minute seemed like a fair estimate if you consider the ones we likely missed due to fog or FOV.

Not to mention that the sky was loving beautiful anyway.
We made cookies afterwards. :)
