The current minimum wage is too low for modern standards which continue to rise and rise. They need to be bumped up all round to be honest, except for the bourgeoisie and the politicians.

We got cops, firemen, emts, working long hours, high risk of injury or death for what is stuff pay despite going through college to get an AS or BA along with academy training.

There is only one border bb, and that is to all corners of space in the name of humanity.

i will agree with bernie in saying that nobody working forty hours a week should have to live in relative poverty, or just barely scrape by

Except raising the min wage just raises prices in general. It literally loving balances itself out so nobody is going to be rolling in their "new found wealth" here.

If I recall correctly, Maiar cannot vote in American presidential elections.

walk to switzerland or somewhere else far far away

I'm no economist or business-savvy person, so don't quote me on the things I'm about to say, but from what I know and have learned about how money and employment works:

Such a rebalancing if the min. wage is suddenly raised that high would probably take a while for things to balance out, i'd bet 10 years or so. And at first, when such a new minimum wage would be implemented (eg. going from $7.50 to $15 an hour, several things would inevitably happen:

  • Many minimum wage employees will lose their jobs, because many of the companies creating those min. wage jobs cannot afford to pay them such high salaries.
  • Businesses that can't or don't want to deal with the stress of paying such suddenly-high wages to their min. wage employees will have far greater incentive to hire illegal immigrants instead of actual americans (its risky for them, but if they are smart about it, they can get away with it and save themselves tons of money by paying them practically nothing).
  • Those companies that attempt to keep all or as many of their min. wage employees on board as they can will most likely compensate by raising their product/service prices. So for example, buying fast food could become a lot more expensive, as a result.

Plus there is no telling how much such a minimum wage increase would affect those who have regular higher-paying jobs. You also have to keep in mind that minimum wage jobs are not intended to be salaries meant for living on, just for in-between jobs, people paying for college, etc. However it is a legitimate problem in 'hoods where almost all the jobs available suck salary-wise anyway and are often high-risk. Sadly that is just how things are and you can never please everyone.

We need to deflate our money and become more of a core country. Core countries import a lot of raw materials and export products. However since almost every manufacturing shipped to some other country, lax government regulations, tax layoffs and loop holes for fat cats, we are dangerously moving toward becoming a periphery country which is a country that exports a lot of raw materials and lacks an industry. If you are exporting raw materials and importing products you are loosing money.

We need some factor to offset the expenses like dismantling some of the modern day monopolies and create competition. Competition means new ideas which means lower prices. We also need to create more incentives for American companies to stay here rather than outsource. Do that and raise the wages we are at a good standard of living.

The other problem is our inflated dollar. The Federal reserve is putting way too many bills into circulation. Look at what happened to Germany and how people had all those worthless notes. For a modern example look at Zimbabwe.

The wages for blue collar workers needs to go up as well if we are going to bump up the minimum wage otherwise we risk what happened to the USSR where scientists found themselves making the same amount of money as a deadbeat janitor despite having a higher education. In fact many doctors and scientists left the USSR for that reason and fled to the west. If you go a health care provider like Kaiser, they employ doctors from foreign countries like Malaysia, India, Cuba because they figures they can make a better living here than at home.

Question, Harm. Would Cable, Utility, Power and Internet companies count as Monopolies? Because I would LOVE to see those starfish companies have to actually charge fair prices as a result of being demonopolized.

If he gets elected im gonna feel bad for all the people planning on leaving the country when he makes our economy the best in the world

Sure.

I am losing my mind. More and more people I thought were sane actually think Donald Annoying Orange could possibly make a good president.

Sure.
Awesome. Yeah we really need to kill the monopolies they have going. Force richardheads like HughesNet to actually have to give decent services and others like Comcast to give decent prices because they will have to compete to make themselves the most appealing to the consumer.

However these are natural monopolies, and that means its very hard to get them to compete because of the nature by which they function. The only reason anyone can really afford to get these monopolies' services is cause of government regulations forcing these douchebag companies to play fair. So IMO one decent way to solve this then is to make the companies want to actually please their customers by having organized and carefully scrutinized public rating systems for these companies, with the goal being that a monopoly like Comcast or Time Warner Cable has to be voted as being liked by their customers to a certain minimum extent or else they face government-imposed penalties or something.

A good penalty I think would be taxes and subsidies. If people overwhelmingly vote that their cable company robs them blind of their money for stuff service, the government would impose fines/taxes on said companies. If a company improves its service, the fines/taxes are lifted, and if they do even better than average, like are awesome with their customer service or prices, they get subsidies from the feds.

The government would basically be saying "you have to please your customers or else you have to answer to us". Sure it steps on the face of Free Enterprise for these kinds of companies but then again there is very little actual free enterprise to these business giants in the first place. Comcast makes a ridiculous amount of money with very little actual expense-costs. Their checklist of expenses just includes maintaining their cable lines and towers, paying a relatively small base of brain-dead housecall cable people, and paying for datacenter/server upkeep, and thats it. They dont spend craptons of money on fuel like shipping companies do, nor do they have to worry about a lot of other things other company types have to.

I am losing my mind. More and more people I thought were sane actually think Donald Annoying Orange could possibly make a good president.
Lol yea I bet its making you question your whole grip on reality. Annoying Orange definitely has qualities of a good president that we have strongly lacked with Obama, such as actually getting stuff done and not being an absolute snowflake/pushover pusillanimous individual. He doesnt take stuff from anyone and actually intends to do something about Mexico and China.

I can see where you are coming from however. I personally feel the same way about people who say they think Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton would make good presidents. The only Democrat I actually like is Joe Biden.
