Author Topic: Do you still own physical copies of games (for pc)?  (Read 2130 times)

/title. In the modern day, physical copies are nowhere to be found and have been replaced with digital ones. (Unless you play on console) and when you buy a PC game in a store, it usually comes with a steam code anyway.
So, do you still have a phsycal copy of a PC game?
I still have a copy of asscreed 1 and CoD WaW

I never was a PC person as a kid, but I have a couple of PC games from Goodwill and Amazon. Also GTA V, because I'm not waiting 3 days to download the game when I can download it in a hour.

PCs were made for digital distribution anyway, it really can be become so much of a hassle to get a physical game working on a PC in the first place sometimes.

i wish they still made disks for most games on pc
it sucks for me because i have hour+ download times for a single gigabyte

I haven't gotten a physical copy of a PC game since I was like 10, buying Halo 1 for PC. It's been a while, but I still have it laying around somewhere

Physical copies of: The Sims 3, Sims 3 Pets, Lego Island 1 and 2, ISpy Fun House, and I think that is it...

i have physical copies of half life, half life blue shift, command and conquer (lost it), and battlefield 3

still have my rayman 2 tge cd

I'm installing BF2 as we speak.

The last disc I bought for PC was either Just Cause 2 or Sims: Medieval, both over 2 years ago, and only because I could get it cheaper than through Steam or Origin at the time.

I have significantly fewer disc purchases since my family got broadband internet, and I was introduced to digital retailers.

I still prefer disc/cartridges for consoles/handhelds, because i can use them on multiple devices, lend them to friends, plug in and play immediately and even resell them.
I'm slightly less inclined these days because Xbox One has you download most of your game even on disc, so there's not as much benefit over digital, besides price which is often lower.
