that's because using it is now a war crime

Not really a surprise. Weren't chemical weapons being used in Syria during the rebellion to Assad's regime just prior to ISIL moving into Syria and forming CIA? Or at least rumoured to be.
It doesn't come as a shock to hear CIA are trying their hands at it too.
This.

There's only one way to stop something like this. Evacuate the poor civilians and get one million soldiers to take metal spoons and start etching around the border. After we're 5 feet below the border, we radio everyone to stick the spoons under iraq and flick them into space.

Best plan, would never fail.

Mustard gas just irritates your trachea and your eyes. The chemical suit is unnecesary.

uh, you might be confused, when mustard gas comes into contact with any part of the human body it causes burns like these (image below), which is known for being incredibly painful but not quickly lethal.

Sulfur mustard is a type of chemical warfare agent. These kinds of agents cause blistering of the skin and mucous membranes on contact. They are called vesicants or blistering agents. Sulfur mustard is also known as “mustard gas or mustard agent,” or by the military designations H, HD, and HT.

Mustard gas, or sulfur mustard (Cl-CH2CH2)2S, is a chemical agent that causes severe burning of the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. It can be absorbed into the body through inhalation, ingestion or by coming into contact with the skin or eyes.

Then how the forget did Riddler survive? He didn't put on his mask and his eye lids were swollen-shut and he had trouble breathing due to the irritation in his respiratory system.

Maybe the starfishs that threw the gas didn't concentrate it enough.

two completely different things where someone is sparing a life and the other time defending something that is theirs

Sparing a life? If the britcigarettes would've let him die, there wouldn't be more than 6 million lives lost and a stuffload of cyanide wasted.

I am almost certain they used Zyklon B for gassing the jews, not cyanide
