As promised back in the Kickstarter days, Yacht Club Games is releasing their first Boss Knight campaign today, Plague of Shadows. It lets you play through the game as Plague Knight, with remixed stages, different gameplay mechanics, and a new story.

The DLC is completely free to everyone who owns Shovel Knight on all platforms, and requires either completing the main game once or using a special code to play. The update should be out on PC for the US right now, with other platforms and EU getting theirs within the next few hours.

Will shovel knight replace plague knight's stage then?

It could've been any other knight, but it just had to be plague night.

Not sure, the PC Gamer review says it's an alternate timeline where Shovel Knight was defeated but not killed

What's wrong with Plague Knight? He won the poll, and there are two more Boss Knight campaigns coming down the road

sweet, loved shovel knight although its a well known fact that propellor knight is obviously the best knight

smol and frail

I can't get used to how floaty he is, but the DLC is fun nonetheless

Welp
I beat it, the DLC was really fun

He is a pain to play when it comes to platforming, especially if there is an enemy on said platform.

Also very hard to control with jump. Maybe i forgot how the jump mechanics worked in this game but still. he also feels a bit more slippery.

Fun nonetheless.

you guys are only noticing the evil enemy placement now? knockback was a huge problem with shovel knight as well

Yeah, aerial enemies were a bitch with shovel knight, but its the ground enemies i despise the most with plague knight. I probably just don't have the right kind of lob yet.
