You should play it. Halo 2 is my most favorite game of all time.
The entire series in general has a great campaign, great multiplayer, great local, great graphics, great...Everything! Even in the original games (H:CE, H2, etc.) are ahead of their time, and still even hold up to games released today, despite them being released in 2001 and 2004.

i'll give my input on halo
halo 4 and basically everything by 343 industries isn't that great so far mainly because it has lots of aim assist. like bullet magnetism kinda aim assist. i don't like having aim assist, it makes the game way too easy, especially on swat.
halo reach was my favorite out of all of them, right next to halo 3. halo 2 and ce i haven't really gotten a chance to play, and halo 5 i don't want unless they really make it something special. otherwise not worth ordering a xbone just to play it.
halo online however looks pretty damn good, and i can't wait until it's out of beta and hopefully not restricted to only russia.

Absolutely hate the removal of split-screen multiplayer, liking everything else so far, which for me, is a big step up from Halo 4

I feel the same way. My friend was gonna buy an Xbone for our group of 4 to split-screen Halo 5. It was a lot of disappointment when we found this out.
