Well it's a Mario Kart game, it's not like it's a total departure from the series. I haven't played enough of Double Dash to tell, but it's probably just as fun if not better.

Not everyone has the same tastes, it's completely fine if he didn't get into smash.

Also Hill, don't forgot about the backwards compatibility the Wii U has with Wii. Perhaps you might have some interest there.
