How DO CPUs get so overheated? Do they really do have moving parts in them or is it the amount of electricity they use that heats them up?

Electricity, I'm pretty sure the only thing that moves in a computer is the fans and disc drive

but hey I'm not an expert someone feel free to refute that

they make a large amount of calculations per second and they heat up from the electricity
the higher the clock and power usage the more heat it will generate
my cpu is a stock 3.5, but i have a large push pull air cooler and i can overclock it to 4.5 safely without going over 60c
you should never push a cpu past 80c, anything past that is usually dangerous or could hurt the cpu

also i have no loving clue how my mac stays so loving cool, sometimes i just stick an ice pack on it if it gets too hot.

it stays cool because the cpu is small and most likely has a good cooling system

Nah you can water cool a gpu and cpu for under 200 using simple aio water coolers. And they work juat as well as any custom loop system. With about thousand times less maintenance and less risk.
Besides some of the awesome huge sized radiators that are available for custom loops, there is no longer an advantage to using them.

Im about to water cool a 5600k and a gtx980 in a mini itx build using just 2 little nzxt x31 coolers it even takes less space then a stuffty full loop system.

Sounds like stuff.i pay less and have jever in my life, in many builds i have done, seen higher then 40c in extreme overclocking and heavy load.
