Long-standing ethnic tensions in Yugoslavia boil over. The states of Slovenia and Croatia formally declare their secession, to the displeasure of Serbia. The acts are declared unconstitutional; in Slovenia, a border dispute continues for 10 days before being diffused, while in Croatia, the Yugoslav and Croatian governments are at a stand-off. An insurrection in Croatia is suspected to be funded by Serbia, but they deny these claims.
An explosion in Delhi, India kills 12 and injures over 40. The origin of the blast appears to have been a shipping container from China. Indian officials are investigating the matter.
