Author Topic: Half Life playthrough?  (Read 1399 times)

my channel that i work on sometimes is dust ass dry, i need to do something new
Half Life 1 has been sitting in my library since June 2013 and I've only played it a few times
I want to start recording a new playthrough of the original Half Life to see how many levels I can get done in like, 10 minutes.
Any suggestions? I've been thinking while playing I discuss certain topics/politics/share stories and stuff
If/When I go through with this, I'll post episodes regularly in this topic.

No kill yourself Sure I guess.

minecraft letsplays are a hot new thing at, try that out instead

Sure I guess.

include a facecam that draws all the attention to your face instead of the actual game. a lot of cool youtubers are doing it!!! !

I'd recommend doing Black Mesa honestly, Half Life has been done millions of times and Black Mesa would probably get better traffic.

But, it wouldn't hurt. Too much content on your channel is never a bad thing.

Black Mesa's still unfinished though

Black Mesa's still unfinished though

People will still watch it episodically, and when Xen does comes out, Maxx can jump on that real quick and record a playthrough of Xen.
Upload that before most other people do, and that's a good way to get a bunch of views.

yea thats why i dont want to do it
anyway
i got the first episode recorded, i got through a p good section
im not including the train opening because its boring as forget so i skipped right to "anomalous materials"

currently i cant really afford black mesa but i will soon

If you have a solid co-op playthrough schedule between you and a friend, you should do that with mics too

please excuse my stuttering, i am horrible at explaining stories but i try to do my best
also audio might not be in sync by like
a milisecond or whatever
but its not noticeable

also please suggest things that i could do or work on to make better
also i have no idea why but the audio is alittle eh, i'll find a way to fix it
the encoder might've forgeted up the recording, i'll work on that

1. First thing I noticed is it was too quiet
2. Try not to start your intro with "uh"
3. There's a couple awkward pauses which is okay, but if the main objective of the video is to just talk, you'll either want to crop out the pauses or try to talk more. A script may help with that.

why not play sven coop with a bunch of friends and record it?

well if you're a speed runner, you can complete half the entire game in 10 minutes
