Author Topic: What are the earliest memories you are capable of remembering?  (Read 4008 times)

I had an uneventful and viciously boring early childhood. My first memory is a nightmare, and my second is the minute before moving out of a house. These were around age 6 I think.

Blimey, that makes me feel old if that's your earliest memory.
I was 11 when he died.

lol i also remember having i think it was a lucid dream when i was 5, not sure but anyways i was in the middle of a thunderstorm, and i went go to the bathroom then i saw a streak of lightning RIGHT outside my damn window, i got so loving scared i woke up, cried and ran into my moms room to sleep there for the rest of the night

nah it's not my earliest memory, just one of my greatest memories. I was 6. My earliest memory was probably playing GTA on my gameboy in preschool, lol

earliest thing I can remember I think was when I was about 3 or so and I was sitting in the front seat between my mom and dad as we were driving out of our apartment complex... I think. I remember seeing fire trucks and ambulances in the parking lot, so maybe there was a fire in the complex and we were trying to get out of there in case our place caught on fire? I dunno

when brick and i were 3 we had this light up toy with buttons on it, and the buttons were different shapes and when you pushed them they said what the shapes were. there were also other things on that thing but can't remember what
my brother and i were up late at night in our room playing with it, and then mom came in and told us to put it away and go to bed

somewhere between 3-5 years old I had a dream that involved a circle of sesame street characters surrounding and throwing blankets on me in what may have been a sparse 1700s-era ship hold while xylophones played a short tune
I'm kind of freaked out because this memory is ridiculously specific and I don't know why I remember it right down to the xylophone tune

also I almost drowned when I was four

i fell on a nail when me and dad were working on the new house when i was 2
my knee hurt bad

When I was 5 or 6, I remember doing an assortment of things.

1. Looking at car magazines with my dad and memorizing cars
2. Stripping naked and dressing up in bedsheets before I was caught by my mom
3. Sneaking into the kitchen while my parents were sleeping where my brother and I threw eggs on the floor and drank chocolate syrup from the bottle
4. Running foot races with our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Kyndal
5. Rolling the cat, Holly, down the stairs
6. Feeding play food to Kyndal
7. Sliding the patio door rod down the stairs where it impaled the wall at the bottom
8. Looking for my hamster, Stormy, when she escaped her cage
9. Trying to peer in between the door frame to spy on people in the bathroom
10. Counting how many seconds that my mom was in the shower
11. Throwing a rock at the neighbor boy's head, writing an apology note, and getting threatened with a lawsuit
12. Throwing a discarded wine bottle at my house where it broke and sliced up my knee
13. Getting sent to the principal's office for crawling under tables and grabbing the principal's legs while she ate
14. Grinding up graham crackers because I saw a girl do that in preschool
15. Drawing pictures of Chrysler Prowlers crashing into water heaters and bursting into flames...in my kindergarten journal book so the teacher contacted my parents
16. Threw a wooden block at a kid's head

  • going upstairs alone at night while my grandpa was visiting, attempting to plug in a lamp and shocking myself.
  • getting in trouble for throwing chalk in a kid's eye; i never threw chalk in that kid's eye. i was framed.
  • hiding in my closet and finally understanding the concept of death and having that gut-wrenching feeling that everybody I love and I are all going to die eventually.
  • running in circles around my newly born niece. (I was 3 at the time)
  • having a huge TV fall on me
  • constantly asking my sister to help me in Super Mario 64. She must have done the first 10 levels hundreds of times because I would keep resetting.
  • making bead necklaces in my mom's craft room
  • always getting slurpies after preschool if i was good.
  • my dad threatening to call santa claus on his extremely 90s telephone (it was the early 2000s)
