I do appreciate now that he admitted that, yes. But I'm not "getting mad" at him for improving, I'm getting mad at him because he should have at least had the decency to think twice about flipping out the "this thread is bullstuff" card, and he should have realized that due to all of the flak he's been getting.

Here let me put it to you like this, we are all at a party and the party is going pretty well. Some people are drinking and others are just conversing. I'm having a conversation with some others, when suddenly a drunken moltenkitten comes over slurring and stumbling.
