"Good good!" the man said cheerily, clasping his hands before him and bringing them up to bump his lips.

He walks from around the desk, toward the group but not too close.  "Three men, three criminals with pea shooters, walk into your headquarters, and take out a good third of your men inside.  Now, the way I see it they're either your greatest enemy,
or, your greatest asset." the man stopped, releasing his hands and letting them jet out to his sides, they drop to his thighs.

"Let's cut to the chase huh?  You, you three, you seem like you could be valuable to me, and I have something of value to you.  You're looking for him, the illusive Doctor, right?" he raised his hands in a questioning shrug.

"Right.  So, a fair trade.  You do some work for me, help me take my rivals down a peg or two, and I help you by not killing you for killing several of my men and blowing up the fourteenth floor, plus I give you information regarding the Doctor and his whereabouts.  Seems fair to me!  Go ahead," he stopped, gesturing to the group with a loose hand, "talk it out amongst yourselves!"

Daniel looked at each of his companions, roostering his head, "Sounds like we don't have much of a choice," he muttered, "can't hurt anyways, right?"

Archie shoots the old man.

pff haha

"Listen old man," Archie speaks up. "We aren't here just to pay him an old family visit. Our lives are on the clock." He sternly points to his imaginary watch.

"Every second we waste doing your dirty work, we waste a second of not getting the meds we need." Archie takes a deep sigh, then looks at Daniel. "I don't mind doing this," he gestures. "—but I'm just worried about wasting time."

Norum turns to Daniel and Archie, speaking quietly, "I don't like this.  Here he thinks that we blew up the 14th floor.  He knows, or at least his men know that The Doctor's evidence was stored there.  Why would he think that it would be to any profit for us to destroy this evidence, or to be anywhere near the scene of the explosion at that."  Norum pauses, glancing over at the old man who has his back turned to the crew, looking out the window.  "Besides, we don't even know what his enemies are.  We don't know who his allies are.  We're in the dark here."

"Well, we're not really in a position to say no."

"Alright," Norum says uneasily, "I'll roll with you guys whatever you decide."

Daniel looked to Archie, shrugging.  "I have as many questions as you do about this guy, but he's got twenty guns out there waiting for us if we try anything else."

Archie looks at Daniel for a few more seconds before looking back at the old man. "Fine."

Daniel sighed, looking back at the old man.  "Alright, we'll do your dirty work.  What do you need done?"

We found The Doctor's office, but it ended up being trapped.  He must have heard we were out for him, I guess.  We ended up murdering a bunch of goons from the gang called, "The Flies."  They've been around since I was just a young kid, they always seemed cool to me.  Now, they're just a bunch of crazy idiots.  And now, we're a bunch of crazy idiots doing work for them.  After The Doctor's office exploded, The Flies brought us to their leader, affectionately referred to as, "The Lord of the Flies," who said he would let us live and provide us with information on The Doctor's whereabouts if we agreed to do some work for him.  I just hope this doesn't last long.  Even though they're pretty well tied with the cops, we aren't affiliated with anyone, so the cops won't exactly turn a blind eye to whatever we're about to do.

"Excellent!" the old man exclaimed, clapping his hands together.  He walked back around to the group, leaning on the front of his desk.

"So, there's this gang, The Redbands, I'm sure you've heard of them.  They've never been real friends of ours, but lately they're really getting on my nerves.  The cops are riding our ass about giving them a bad rep, because we're, 'getting away with too much bullstuff!'  So here's where you, the unaffiliated party, comes in," he said, smiling deviously.

"The Redbands have started offering protection services for businesses on our turf, and worst of all, they're undercutting our prices, taking businesses we already own!  We need you to teach them a lesson, both the business owners and The Redbands.  I'm not saying murder everyone, at least keep the business owners alive.  I don't give a hot-stuff about The Redbands though," he said, turning around and looking out the window.

"So, that being said, send them a message.  Toss a brick through their window, steal their money or their products, trash the place, I don't care what you do.  But whatever you do,
do not mention The Flies.  Got it?  Good.  Now, get the hell out of here, and don't come back until you're done.  Oh, and help yourself to the armory on the floor below.  They haven't been told what to give you, they'll probably just give you whatever they feel like.  Get going," the man said, throwing a hand over his shoulder and waving the group out.

Daniel nodded, grumbling under his breath, before standing up.  He looked at his companions and jerked his head toward the door behind them, "Let's roll, dudes," he said.

Norum gets up and walks towards the door, following Daniel, shooting a glance at the old man before leaving.

Archie stands up and walks out the door with Daniel and Norum, and heads on his way to the Armory.

Daniel headed for the roof access, giving the guards a sour glance.  Once the group was in the stairwell, he turned his head back as he descended, "Once we've got whatever we can from the armory, we're going to the hospital.  Archie needs his wounds looked at.  Plus, The Doctor had to have been a surgeon at some point, maybe we can get some info from them," he said.

Once he reached the landing for the floor below, he looked around.  On a door just down the hall, below the Apt. number, was the word "ARMORY" crudely scratched into the wood and paint.  He walked over, opening the door.  The hustle and bustle inside stopped as everyone looked up at him.  "We're here because your boss is sending us to do some work for him," he said bluntly, looking around.

A man behind a long metal table to his left sucked on his teeth, roostering his head back, "What d'you need?" he asked.

"We're going up against Redbands, maybe cops," Daniel replied, looking about the room.

"Alright," the man said, standing up.

He walked over to a large metal case with military markings on it.  He popped the lock on it, the pressurized case letting out a quiet hiss as air was sucked into it.  He opened it up, removing several black shirts, with thin but visible plates in the chest and abdomen area.  "Here, wear these.  They'll stop a bullet or two.  It'll hurt, but you'll live," he said, gazing lazily at the Group, "Anything else?"

Daniel nodded, "Nah, these look like they'll do, man.  Thanks," he said, roostering his head back at the man.

He took his shirt, and passed two others to the two other members of the group.

Norum grabs the shirt and tucks it under his arm.  "Thanks."

Physical Description: Stands at 5'7, small build, slender. Light brown hair, shaved short on the sides and combed over on top. Heterochromatic, one eye is a silvery blue, the other is some mixture of hazel and brown. Pale skin, some freckles on her face. No exposed electronics or circuitry.
Quote from: Inventory
Pockets: Wallet, ID-Payment card, switchblade, E-Ciggy/Vaporizer
Satchel: Spare clothes, instant pull-string cup noodles, flask, vial of several grams of a powdered narcotic, a piece of cloth, one vial of vaporizer oil, labeled as Official Colonel Crush Cereal Flavor™
Weapons: Pistol (Satchel) Switchblade (Pocket)
Body Modification: General-Purpose Mind-Net Link, Add-On Medical Neurological Control Implant (w/ Illegal Joywire Modification) , Add-On Ear Augment, Add-On Eye Augment, card reader in her index fingers.

The General-Purpose Mind-Net Link allows for Elena to search the web wherever she goes, even while walking. She can use it to do basic hacks and preform computations, along with other illegal or white color crime activities. It comes with a VI, named Morgenstern, who is merely a personification of the operating system. Elena may ask Morgenstern to hack or run hack programs, preform computations, or send messages. As per God's orders, Morgenstern is not actually intelligent, it just appears so. Morgenstern's avatar appears as an androgynous human, and it's hologram is red in color. Elena can control it with her thoughts. The implant can also display things to Elena in a VR type fashion.

The Medical Neurological Implant and Joywire mod allows for Elena to control pain and hormones. Elena can use it to suppress pain or trigger adrenaline dumps, among other implications. The implant can assist in causing or resisting sleep. The Joywire mod is illegal, and allows Elena to "shock" herself into dopamine dumps, causing her to get high. All of this comes at the danger of over exertion or overdose, which can kill the inexperienced. Morgenstern interfaces with this to attempt to keep Elena alive.

Ear augment allows for an acute sense of hearing, along with a wider range and audio filtering.

Eye augment allows very good sight, along with FLIR infrared and ocular filtering.

The Card Reader-Interfacer is a small chip in each of Elena's index fingers that can read Payment-ID cards, or other cards.

The downside to every one of these implants is that any EM pulse, electrical shock that runs through the head, or strike to the head that causes anything greater than a low-grade concussion can easily would or kill Elena.

Short backstory: Elena is a coder and robotics engineer by trade. She first illegally got her Mind-Net Link to assist her in coding, however, she was shortly discharged from her job after she ran out of sick days while coping with complications from her surgery. Running out of money, she began to pose as a prostitute to steal from men or women, which involved drugging her clients, then making withdrawals from their Payment-ID cards with the readers in her fingers. The client would wake up believing in a series of false events, and otherwise not notice unless their own brain implants had recorded the events artificially.

She did this for the last two years, and bought a series of extra implants.

She expanded her operations to upper-level management clients in corporations, and even gang members, before a high level business executive black-box recorded her stealing money, and put a hefty price on her head. Both the Flies and the Redband have sects who know of the bounty. She suspects a few corporations may know as well.
