Author Topic: Ideas to "revive" blockland (tip: living things cant be revived)  (Read 10412 times)

A sale is always great and it gives a boost of active players, I recorded when that happened once where it had 1800 players at the same time because Blockland was like 1 dollar.

we need more server hosts like pecon and tezuni

The sale would be great but it would also be better if we got updates like we were promised in 2012.

add physics to blockland.

add physics to blockland.
but we already dooooooooooooooo~

something new, or to bring something back.

*cough* maps *cough*

The main problem with the game is its outdated engine and its stuffty limitations.
Not only that, but the fact that it's more GPU intensive than some current games is absolutely absurd.

The game needs more videos and media something that attracts a viewer is what the product is capable of doing and blockland has these strengths that are going to attract a viewer. I remember back in the day I watched the GMOD idiot box and idiots of garry's mod and it instantly convinced me into buying garry's mod, same goes for blockland if we made something like that or just good, fun and entertaining videos for viewers to watch. Thousands of people are on youtube daily so it is a very good idea to start some media in here.

But there are probably even more ideas to raise the player count

We also need more brilliant scripters for the community, just like marble man used to be
his scripts were useful and entertaining

And if a server is entertaining, more players

We need blockland to stop being abandonware

I'm just kidding about it being abandonware, but some updates would be nice.

add physics to blockland.
The game already has it's own physics. Just because they're not quite like 'real physics', doesn't mean it doesn't have any.

The Blockland Show.....

The real issue isnt that blocklands playerbase is shrinking. Its that the majority of the current playerbase are kids from steam, most of whom literally have no idea this forum even exists. Thus the forum ends up seeming sparse (the clan discussion board has gone the way of the AoT board, with only about one or two new posts every day, and with the oldest thread on the 1st page dating to over a month ago).

If Badspot implemented Steam Workshop for Blockland, that would solve a lot of problems, and help with server quality significantly, but at this point I am starting to lose hope that will ever happen.
