do you want to design computers?
do you want do design software?
do you want to program computers?

answer yes to one of the questions above
Yes, yes, yes, YES

but my gpa is stuff and my act/sat scores will probably be less than the minimum requirements for the college i plan on going to (needed sat score of 1000)
should probably avoid colleges that have "minimum requirements"

only other option is community college then.

how is that your only other option?

computer engineering

it's like electrical engineering + computer science. it has less of a focus on software and more on hardware. not only will you understand what each and every component in a PC does, but you'll learn how to engineer new ones

This, I'm working on getting my A++ certifcation in computer engineering. You'll be working on how to fix computers and other eletronics. Its a bit hard but it is quite fun and you'll learn alot about how computers operate.

i have a huge fear of being alone. i can't make friends let alone talk to complete strangers. also i'm not going to waste gas for the hour drive and back just to go to school.

every idea he's been presented with has been this

"waste" is relative...
and you can always live on campus, if it's that big of a deal
every idea he's been presented with has been this

You're going to have to get over this eventually and the sooner you do it the easier it'll be

also i'm not going to waste gas for the hour drive and back just to go to school.
i dunno man, i would gladly pay the extra money if it meant i was getting a solid education into a career field i was interested in.
