Author Topic: why is my internet so slow?  (Read 1155 times)

the last couple of days my internet has been all over the place
sometimes its normal, and other days it slows to a crawl
response from websites is abnormally long, and bandwidth seems to be really slow (i need to wait 2-3 minutes to watch a youtube video in 1080p)

the only issue is that speed tests dont really show anything, and when they do im seeing 1/6 the speed i should be getting, and unless i can replicate the issue comcast told me to go forget myself

comcast is trash they're prob throttling u

comcast is trash they're prob throttling u
speedtest is showing normal speeds (115 mbps)
and would throttling really affect ping?

because comcast.
actually it's "xfinity" now. because they forget you over x infinity

south korea wifi master race

and would throttling really affect ping?
if they decide they want it to
I doubt they would, though

I'd suggest calling while it's happening. that's a whole step above replicating the issue

wait
then why did u say
because the speedtests are weird and they only show the stuffty speeds some of the time
ive gotten like two successful tests where it shows the speed that im intermediately getting (around 20mbps) but comcast wont accept it because its not from their rebranded version of speedtest, even though its the same server

why would they? they're a big company, they can't afford to put their trust in a third-party tool

most isps unthrottle popular speedtest sites

Call your internet provider straight up and tell them about your internet

yea my isps speedtest site is powered by ookla which does speedtest.net anyway so they both get the same results every time
