They are actually doing things

They did fdisk /dev/sda

They created a partition successfully


There wasn't even a filesystem argument. They just chose ext4

i saw a couple of b's for btrfs and some 3's towards the end of ext

i'm more worried about the fact they forgot the boot flag, it's gonna boot back into the ISO

Nah, grub takes care of that iirc

i've always had to but that might be different for grub

fun part is them having to enter pacstrap -i /mnt base base-devel now and then nop for the next 10 minutes

EDIT: TIL you no longer need -i
