Author Topic: Real times that you just dodged something bad.  (Read 7452 times)

Tell us a time when you just stopped or prevented something very bad from happening.

This was like when i was in 1st or 2nd grade, i don't really remember, but i rode the bus before, and there were 2 different schools riding on the bus, Half in my grade, others in middle school or something. They pretend like total starfishs, because they are. Once, one of the bullies or "wannabethug" starts harassing people on the bus, until he came to me acting like a ass hole, i came up with a come back and he gets pissed off literally about to beat the forget out of me until i moved my seat thanks to the bus driver. I dodged getting my ass kicked that time. But 2 months later, the same thing did happen again, but this time, i got loving hit hard. I had a big red loving mark on my head and a black eye. That is when i stopped riding the bus and walked home.

dodged a falling wooden object from crushing me when i was about 7 or 8
i was small enough to fit in the towel compartment so i got away unscathed

i was on vacation back when i was a little kid and it was getting dark and we were gonna go for a quick swim in the stream
i was young and stupid and i was about to loving step on a water moccasin's mouth that was waiting to bite me
my mom grabbed me right before i did it

i almost stabbed my eye 5 times by now

Luckily, you are wearing swag glasses.

So I go out to skate and hit up my friends when I was stopped right as I got on my skateboard by this really sketchy guy wearing all black. He had this creepy smile and asked me if he could try my board out.

I got a weird vibe from him and my body was screaming at me that this situation just isn't right. I listened to my instincts and said no. He then got a little mad and kept insisting that I let him try out my board. He says that his mom's house is just to our right and he wants to ride there but I say no because he is still giving off a weird vibe.

Then a person turns the corner in a car and suddenly he stops and says he is walking to his mom's house but he doesn't even walk to the right. He goes straight.

When I group with my friends, one of them said "hey this guy came up to me and asked where I lived and what a school I went to and threatened me with a rock if I didn't tell me". Note that the friend was alone when the sketchy guy came up to him.

I asked him what the guy looked like and its the exact description of the guy I encountered earlier. If I let him ride my board, he probably would've ridden off with it and skateboards are usually $120-180 for a decent one.

But there's more. I was with 1 other friend walking to a skate spot I found and out of nowhere this random guy starts following us really close to us, like if he was any closer I would've felt his breath Again, my bodys screams at me that the situation is not right and that we need to get away from this guy. To get to the skate spot, we have to take this way away from the busy road. Then my friend and I exchange looks and we both know that we are being followed at this point. We instead take the longer way which involves the busier road and then the guy just turns right.

We get to the skate spot and I see the guy in the distance walking away stomping as if he was angry.

I guess this is what happens when you venture out of your house.

well there was that one time where somebody told me that most of us were alright and so i went back home for the day. turns out i avoided a mass shooting.

we were working on an eagle scout project and my nephew was helping and I tripped while holding a shovel and almost hit his foot

one time i almost fell down the stairs but i slipped on my butt rather than my face

i was about to fall down the stairs
then i realized
we don't have stairs

almost fell on a knife

I almost got hit by a drunk/distracted driver a week ago. I forgot to post about it.

I was on my way to pick my sister up from somewhere. It was dusk. I was on a two lane highway with no shoulders. That road is in the middle of the woods, so the sides of the road are thick with trees and/or deep ditches. I came over a hill and maybe 200-400ft in front of me there was a beige Jeep Grand Cherokee driving on the wrong side of the road coming at me. His right wheels were on the center line. I hit the brakes and leaned on the horn. Luckily he swerved over right away and passed me. I watched him go over the hill in my mirror and he was still partly driving on the center line. If he had hit me I would've been completely screwed. I didn't have my phone on me because my sister had it. After I picked her up and got back on that same highway a cop passed me. I was kind of mad because if he had been there 10 minutes earlier he could have gone after the guy.
If he didn't respond to me honking I would have had to either jump off the road and hit a tree (possibly rolling the van over), hit him head on, or get in the wrong lane and possibly sideswipe him. The last option would have definitely been the best.
