Author Topic: is it possible to make more paint fx's?  (Read 2612 times)

There's a couple routines hidden around TGE that allow for remote execution of code, but it's purely server->client. It's theoretically possible to "force" a dll on someone ;o

that should uh
probably promptly be patched

didn't badspot like, leave a message saying not to talk about this if it's script based.
if it's c++ based then idk
edit: I was semi right, talks about secure commands. Ignore what I said.
Carry on.

But is going through all that trouble really worth it for... a paint fx?

it's about the PRINCIPLE!

Or lies the problem with giving the bricks more properties?
yeah thats the problem
actually making the new properties

But what other kinds of Paint FX could be added?

anything u want bb

Tbh I wouldn't care about other clients seeing it happen, I want to see someone manage to make it happen and post a youtube video of a rotating brick using a custom paintfx.

Or something more fun.

I would prefer the ability to have a larger amount of colours in a single colourset, rather than more Fx's.
I personally hardly find a use for the Fx's, besides Glow (useful for getting a few more colours out of your colorset), and Blink (for interactive objects).

But if I could have a color-picker for the game (which I know is impossible), that would make me unbelievably happy.

I propose rainbow fx is removed
It's used only for evil

A better looking chrome effect.

If it isn't possible without forcing a dll on someone than is there really any other possible way? Server Sided? Client only?

Not if you use purer colors such as red, lime green, and royal blue.

What about an FX that gives the brick a partial environment map that reflects the current skybox? It's still a thing you can do with DTS models, i'm just not sure how it would work with bricks though...

So like a mirror FX? Or just reflecting the sky.
That would be awesome, however I've heard mirroring is extremely processor hungry.

bathsoap add more paint fx pls ty
