Author Topic: I can't log out of Windows 10 because my start menu wont open.  (Read 1963 times)

Ever since I switched I have had nothing but problems with it. It's crashed three times, freezes, simple things like searching for a program don't work half the time or loving freeze my computer... not to mention the start menu stuff.
Just to clarify most problems are outdated should be outdated drivers, thats what microsoft says at least, and many oem's are not updating drivers to give you a stuffty experience and make you buy a new pc instead of upgrading.

Now if you built it yourself I recommend you do a clean install of windows 10 and make sure you have no registry tweaks or custom themes ala uxstyle patch.

I don't wanna risk losing my stuff or possibly loving up my computer
Back up important stuff.

yea lets give him a stuffty experience so when he buys a new computer, it will be an older version of windows, or maybe not even windows at all

Windows 10 seems to use up more ram than even Windows 8 did when idle.

Maybe it's because of all of the stuffty crapware that isn't necessary for the desktop use.

Yep most of the time its a piece of stuff virus that goes undetected and does nothing but slow everything down and forget with explorer.exe

Harmless but annoying as forget, usually bundled in sketchy installers or pirated nonsense.

OP could also right click the start menu button to sign out, assuming a menu (not the real start menu obviously) still comes up when you do that (which does in my experience).

lmao this is yet another reason why im staying with windows 8.1.

I've never had any issues with Win10 ever.

right click the windows button and you can do all of the sign out tasks like shut down etc

This happened in Windows 8.1, too. BUT OH NO ITS SO MUCH WORSE BECAUSE THE WINDOWS 10 BOGEYMAN

WinKey + L locks the computer, allowing you to sign out or use your normal shutdown buttons etc.

Ever since I switched I have had nothing but problems with it.
god loving damnit this
games hardly work with this stuff

Wow you guys must not be doing something right because for me at least, windows has only crashed three times (although it shouldn't be crashing at all, and its only because its not activated for some reason??).

wow you must not be doing something right
wow you must be a nerd

the only problem I had with 10 is that darkest hour would run really slow but I fixed that with the windows 8 fix
