Being bias towards your friends can be definitly be harmful, but it's not as black and white as you think it is--applying blanket "septic forumer" terms over people that disagree with you only serves to enflate your ego and alienates you from a majority of the forums.

For him being as vindictive as he is while also straight up baiting somebody to get banned, I don't want Molten around because he's got a generally toxic personality. He's gotten enough space to change and yet instead of reflecting on his own flaws and actually changing he's just said apologies and went back to being his old self.

I don't know how it's so hard for some people to fit in these forums because it doesn't take much. He obviously doesn't have a compatible personality for the forums so he might as well just leave he starts more trouble in the future.
