Author Topic: my teacher has a really ridiculous way of grading  (Read 1801 times)

so, when it comes to receiving a 100% on a test in my Geometry I class, he doesn't give them. Literally. Last week, I somehow managed to get every question right on our summative assessment test, and I check my grades to see I only got a 99%. Sure, I can take the passing grade and shut up, but I got everything right, so why not a 100? Well, my teacher believes that "nothings perfect", so he can't give me a 100%, when really it isn't perfect, but I got 100% of the questions correct, hence the grade. I think it's handicapped that he made up this rule that it's impossible to achieve a 100% in his class because "nothings perfect". what is your opinion

also, this is the same teacher that won't let us spell reflection, "reflection". He makes us spell it "reflexion", (reflexing, reflexor, etc) which almost aren't words.

thats pretty loving edgy

His scoring isn't perfect

your teacher sounds like an assclown

his teaching style is far from perfect
it's even demotivating, as getting a 100% causes him to stuff on you with "nothing is perfect forgeter"
you should beat him up

1 point off is still technically a way a fraud (cant think of a better word) because that 1 point can mean that you're not going to college or some bs like that. i'd recommend taking action soon even though it is very unlikely 1 point will not do you any damage.

I'd report him to the school board or something but that's because I'm an starfish

The forget.

Bring it up with a parent and have them say something?
Or bring it up to someone higher up like a principal. I'm not sure what they'd do but it's worth a try?

Unrelated but in high school one of my teachers had a pretty cool grading policy. If you disagreed her grade for whatever reason, you could have another teacher grade it (if they agreed to it? Or maybe there was a certain teacher she "partnered" with and they both did this? Idk) and then you got whatever grade they gave you, whether it was higher or lower

I'd report him to the school board or something but that's because I'm an starfish
That's really not an starfish move.
He's teaching intentionally wrong.

You're in a math class so yes, your answer can be perfect. If that's how he's gonna grade he should be teaching a restarted subject like ELA

i had a teacher who did this in the 7th grade but she kind of threw that behind her like the first 3 weeks

pretty edgy in my opinion

he's just being overrealistic

tell the principal. giving everyone lower grades for made-up reasons is probably against some kind of policy or something

The highest grade most of my professors will give on an exam is a 99%.
