Author Topic: is opera browser a virus  (Read 1014 times)

just need to know
reason i ask is because one day it just randomly showed up

Its fine I think. But I haven't used opera since I had my Nokia

When my comp randomly started getting a ton of adware it showed up out of nowhere. So I would think so.

i got it the same way

Opera itself is not a virus, but if it popped up from nowhere then I could be a modified version that is infected.

You didn't install anything recently that included it as bundleware did you?

I'd be suspicious of any program that appeared without your consent or knowledge regardless.

if it showed up for no reason you should probably run an antivirus. I myself recommend opera as a default browser, it's my personal favorite. :)

Does Nintendo operate all their Internet Browsers on Opera?

It's like Bing. Some installations might ask if you want to install it as well/make it your default ______.
If you don't pay attention, stuffty adware invades.

The Opera browser is a legit browser. More popular in Europe, nearly unheard of in America.

ive been using it since im like 11 and never had a problem with it

from the official page, no. it may be a virus considering it came up through an installer
