Did you not see how chewy's bowcaster knocked a stormtrooper back like 20 feet? He barely moved when he got shot with it. That takes strength. Jedi/Sith are very well trained and tough, but they're not invincible. So to get hit with a bowcaster and still manage to hold your own in the fight is impressive, regardless of how well trained you are.

That bowcaster stuff is basically an armor piercing grenade launcher.

Bowcasters were much more powerful than standard blaster rifles, meaning few humans were capable of carrying one around, let alone hold it level and steady for a precise shot.

It's also electromagnetic and travels faster than a laser blaster.

i think you forgot that Rey has been handling and using her staff for god knows how long while Luke on the other hand had no training and still managed to kill Vader. Luke was able to do it because the force taught him to and Rey's knowledge is a combination of actual experience fighting with a weapon as well as the force

What was more alarming was how well Finn was able to hold Kylo off for, despite having no melee practice at all.

Pretty sure this is very wrong. There's a backstory behind that "TR-8R" scene, that was his buddy that he trained with. finn had melee training.

Luke also did a lot of off-screen practice between the films.

Yes, the force does help guide users in fighting with a lightsaber (particularly in deflecting blaster shots), but the user also needs practice and usually training.
After all, there are several different 'forms' or styles of fighting that need training. Mace Windu was one of few to invent and codify a new difficult form. Force Users couldn't just learn an entire form from the force.

She was on the defence 90% of the fight till she was pushed to the cliff and channeled the force to throw in a few attacks while kylo was distracted by talking to her or something right? Honestly i see no problem with her "winning" given the circumstances.
