the game has existed for 3-4 years with the song and hasn't yet been shot down

there's two mobile versions, nyan cat lost in space and 8-bit nyan cat lost in space, the latter of which has been on the apple app store as a $0.99 app for nearly 3 years

if I have no idea what I'm talking about and/or steam has different rules regarding song use than the apple app store, feel free to correct me

The producer of the song said he allowed the use of the song in the mobile version of this game because it was free.
I'm guessing he's just not very proactive on copyright stuff, and he publishes his own songs so it's not like he has a record company behind him to flag things.

I'm guessing he really doesn't care about the use of the song in the Steam release either, but he was never asked for permission.
