Author Topic: Has the U.S.A turned on its police officers?(Debate)  (Read 2355 times)

that is very wrong because not everybody with dark skin is of african descent

The majority of Jamacians are of African descent

so they can be both Jamacian and African

since they're the majority, it is safe to assume that a Jamacian is of African descent

holy hell
hypothetical situation: having a couple thousand ancestors ~300 years ago come to the island during the slave trade and create children for generations does make them african
fixed for you

This article is literally cherrypicking hell
Instead of actually giving the full dataset, they give you tiny little compare-and-contrast snippets of it which could just as easily be cherrypicked as they could have been fairly selected.

It also doesn't show any of the numbers that really matter, which is per-capita shootings adjusted to crime rates. not raw frickin data. this is why the wage gap myth lived on, comparing raw data is absolutely nonsensically useless.
no? not gonna try to justify either of your claims? oke doke.

fixed for you

you are welcome

black people were the majority in jamaica as early as the 1670s so yeah most of their ancestors would be black not just 2 of them.

AND loving AGAIN YOU CHERRY-PICK MY TOPIC
This is not a speaking of unarmed people
It's literally the only issue worth discussing. Nobody takes issue with the fact that armed criminals are getting shot. It might be symptomatic of some kind of larger social issue, but at that point there's nothing you can really do about it when guns are being pointed at people.

What other cases do you want to discuss? Besides Tamir Rice's?

Spoilers for African vs. Jamaican debate: Ethnic identity and genetic profile are two different things. There's no well-defined boundaries that relate your genetics to your national/ethnic identity. It's just defined by where most of your ancestors have lived. In this case, it's Jamaica.

black people born in america who come from jamaican ancestry have african heritage?

The point being that black people born in America descended from Jamaican ancestors can also be an African descendant.

It doesn't mean that all people who are black descend from Africa but in this case a majority of them do.

i kind of think it's the black people's fault because their stereotypical "hey what's good brother wanna smoke weed and rob a gas station" has kind of enforced itself over the entire population of the USA. obviously not all black people are like that just like not all gay people are loving interior designers and go "hayy bittchh!".

I don't see why being stereotypical black means you're a criminal. Most of the people I hang around who are stereotypical black don't engage in any crime, they just use Ebonics often and are fully capable of articulating themselves like anyone else.

I think this is an inappropriate automatic assumption. The vast majority of China's population consists of Han people (91%), however there are also several minority groups. The odds are that you'll come across a Chinese individual of Han origin, but there is also a chance of meeting a Chinese individual who is not of Han origin.

While Jamaica consists of those primarily of African decent, there are also many who are of Lebanese, Sephardic, Chinese, and British decent.

What's appropriate is irrelevant, it's just likelier that somebody who descended from Jamaica also descended from Africa.

How about a more recent one
except on this one i can see both sides of the story, on one side he had a knife, but on the other the man was backing away from the police and they didnt have to unload 2 clips, This is a good example of police officers who are in the wrong

I think this is quite dismissive, in all honesty.
