Author Topic: If you could make a videogame without limits what would it be v365  (Read 4817 times)

I haven't made one of these in a while so why not again.
If you had the ability to make your dream videogame(s) without having to worry about effort, copyright, or any limitations, what would you do?

I recently came up with an idea after playing a bit more of twisted-metal kinda car shooting games like gas guzzlers extreme and looking at this map I found on google images

(some route 66 travel map with other routes)

I was thinking it would be awesome if there were a multi-stage race between all these points while having 200+ vehicles all going at the same time ranging from buses to atvs to muscle cars to motorcycles to many other unique things while they shoot eachother with many many different kinds of weaponry.

But of course I would remove some of the points since some are too close together. And you may be thinking "200+ vehicles at once??? That's insane!!" well you're most definitely right, but I was thinking once someone is out, they're out for the whole thing. So by the last one there might only be a few left. And each stage would be moderately long (not as long as the actual route of course but maybe 5-10 minutes each) and between each stage you'd have a chance to upgrade and repair and fuel your vehicle and buy new weapons that get increasingly more deadly. Everyone starts out with standard car-mounted machine guns.

And then I'd make an alternate mode where everyone's fully upgraded and had unlimited fuel and other necessary stuff at the start, and no stops. It would obviously take a long time to complete but it would be interesting. I think the main problem with this though is that eventually everyone will be too spaced out from everyone else to do anything, so the other main mode would probably be more fun in general.

undertale but it doesnt burn my eyes

Ripped from the original thread:
Imagine Mario kart crossed over with bullet hell games like tohou or undertale
Now with multiplayer and versus with quite a bit of guns
And vehicle customization and upgrades
And an AI versus mode
And a level editor
And single player campaign

blockland that has terrain like lego worlds

I'd like to reboot the original F.E.A.R. game, but with a set of changes.

  • You're not playing as the Pointman or anybody related to the Wade-family.
  • The game would be open-world but designed so that players would explore in a linear fashion (i.e. using lights and Alma sequences to guide players towards where we'd like them to go).
  • You would spend a lot of time in the early stages of the game exploring the Auburn District (entering schools, businesses, churches etc) before being told to make your way to Fairport and ATC HQ.
  • In the early stages of the game, you would have to spend a LOT more time with your two main companions, but you would also interact with a few squads of recognisable characters who also frequently talk with you over the comms. The idea is to build up stronger relationships between the player and these NPCs so that it can end in real heart-break when Alma/Fettel starts picking them off.
  • I'd like for there to much less reused assets and more thought into the design of ATC HQ (the current layout doesn't make a lot of sense for a business that does Government bio-weapon research). The big thing would be stressing just how OHS-non-compliant ATC is and how little they care about their employees.
I'd like for there to be more people in ATC alive; it'd be really cool to have a constant conflict between IT employees and to even see ATC office works try fight against ATC-SEC or the Replicas.
  • ATC-SEC should get modifications to make them as enjoyable to kill as the Replicas (better voice acting, increased particle effects and gibs).
  • There would be less weapons overall, but you can pick-up and carry them all at once. Ammo would be more scarce for the higher-powered weapons. Weapons would be a side-arm, an mid-range rifle, a long-range rifle, a close-range weapon, an energy weapon and a launcher.
  • The explosion at the end of the game should be more pronounced, and I think it should be fuelled by nuclear waste the player discovers through their travels further pointing at incompetence.

Those are kind of the key-points. There's a lot of small changes I'd make, but whatever.

An apocalypse game where the map is the whole world and you can basically do whatever

An super realistic LEGO building game
I don't know what's with me and LEGO

a game like gmod were you can go anywere in the world.

its like real life, but in a game.

If Just Cause 3 and Mirror's Edge had a threesome with GTA V and birthed an open-world parkour game with bank heists, driving cars and wingsuit/grapple/parachute combos, I would never need another video game ever again.

(COUGH)GTA5
wtf? lol

i'd want to create something like Elite: Dangerous where you could explore the galaxy in a realistic scifi setting. the catch is you can build your ship yourself (buy a ship as a base then add on to it), and you can land on any planet anywhere. even with the release of Horizons, the expansion pack that let's you land an explore, you can't land on planets like Earth. it'd be super amazing to simulate bustling city planets or planets like Earth where there's a mix of nature and technology. getting out of your ship and socializing would be amazing as well, with the game more on a lean towards the social aspect in order to get things done. you can explore new planets with your friends and maybe even influence people to settle there and slowly watch them build a city. you can get into all sorts of trouble from having a bounty placed on you to having to flee society because someone asked you to smuggle some 'tea" to them and it turned out to be drugs and you're desperately trying to get help from your friends to forge a new identity and get rid of the contraband. you can also apply for jobs, be it patrolling a street in a city on Mars, or being involved in pirating illegal weapons across worlds. combat without a ship would be a big thing too, you could even EVA and break into someone else's ship, kill them, and take their shuttle as your own and get it repaired. capital ships would be a huge thing and something for clans to purchase, and would require a lot of people in it to operate.
i need this.

A Star Wars game where you can go all across the galaxy without loading

eu4 but not stuff
or
a new 3d mario game but not stuff
or
a new paper mario but not stuff

lego universe.

I WANT THIS BACK

IF I WERE TO CREATE A VIDEO GAME WITHOUT LIMITS IT WOULD BE A LEGO UNIVERSE REWRITTEN, LIKE TOONTOWN REWRITTEN
