...said no one ever (jk)

that's nonsense. people tried to do it to the PS Vita, PSP, PS3, and Wii all at the same time.
even the GC and PS2 have homebrew lol, all around when they came out

yeah but I still feel no need to homebrew the Wii U especially because of how many cheaper and more open options there are (PSP, Wii, etc.)

people enjoy having things for new things, haha
plus technically you can also do wiibrew on the wii u as well with vWii

While I can appreciate people trying to crack the systems early, I do think its a bit early for practical use. Like with the 3DS Nintendo is gonna keep pushing out firmware updates to block any homebrew attempts. Anybody staying on old firmwares will miss out on things like online play, the eshop, and certain updates.

That's what I did with my Wii U. Nothing like playing Melee, F-Zero GX, Rogue Leader, and Custom Robo through in hdmi cable in widescreen and with my GameCube Controller.

there's going to be a spoof available to allow such uses of online
which is pretty dang neat

So what will this allow us to do?

So what will this allow us to do?
same things as homebrew wii let you do i suppose

So what will this allow us to do?

modding of games, homebrew, and other stuff (maybe a new bootmii?)

also unrelated but there's a wii u emulator available called cemu that actually works

should I make a thread about tgat?

bump, will this allow gc support for wii mode? I hope so because i need a way to play pm on console

also hasnt there been a gcn "mod" on the wii u as well?

GC Wii Mode support has existed for a while

oh, thanks friend

Basically Wii Homebrew but on a larger scale. Like imagine stuff like an accurate N64 emulator running in 1080p which is also playable on the gamepad, nifty homebrew games/applications that could take advantage of the gamepad, game mods, or even more featured multimedia applications. Also technically speaking if people got a hold of the Wii U it means that it would be possible to do stuff like play GameCube games on the gamepad.

I think Gr8 was implying if there was a way to implement the GameCube adapter into the Wii Mode other than in homebrew. I don't think there is way or will be, but who knows. Being able to play with GameCube controller in some of my Wii games would be great because the new Classic Controllers that imitate the GC controllers are garbage and don't hold up to the standards of them.

Yeah it's called Nintendon't, great piece of homebrew that allows you to play all of your GC games off an SD card with widescreen hacking, forced progressive scan, virtual memory cards, and even with your normal GC controllers via the adapter. It plays all the games natively using the hardware from the Wii (since the Wii is literally just an souped up GC), so there's no emulation involved.

shiiiit, i need to get my hands on that. i hope my vWii homebrew isn't forgeted up, i don't have the original sd card that installed it anymore.
