This is a dank eel. Did you know eels are often harvested, and when they are they have to be wrestled out of their unreasonably thick and quickly made mucus layer? I don't remember it exactly but they produce it stupid quick. They're like living sentient sinuses that grew teeth and eyes and organs. Actually, they kind of just.. Are a giant sinus. I don't know if this applies to all eels though. It could just be one of the breeds.

there are water snakes already

I'm still loving traumatized by the eels in AC4 Black Flag because they were big, scary, and unavoidable. Holy forget those diving things were a nightmare.
