Should Physics be fixed?

Author Topic: A movement to fix blockland vehicle physics  (Read 2350 times)

sense badspot isn't going to do anything about it, I guess it's up to the community. What do you propose we do/can do about it?

It's not gonna happen.
Sorry, nice try.

Someone made a actual fix for physics though. Not sure if it was ever released.

Couldn't be because it was an injected dll that worked similarly to  blhack

Why didn't badspot check it and add it to the game code?

He said he liked the broken physics better
that's... okay, I guess, since the new one might break speedkart or something in little ways

I've never seen people talk out of their ass so confidently until I came here.

Anyway to answer OP's question, it's very possible. Unfortunatley badspot has stated in the past he has 0 inclination to fix the vehicle physics, and actually prefers them to be broken.

Racing servers and deathmatches with vehicles in them are servers I will never join.

I would argue your jeep getting flung into low Earth orbit because you accidentally impacted a door the wrong way like the bad driver you are is a key selling point of the game.

plus it makes for some great stunt videos

I disagree. We removed maps and terrain (the only thing vehicles reliably work on) because they made the game "look broken". Right now the only thing making the game "look broken" is the vehicle physics. If someone can do it with a hamfisted DLL injector, Badspot could probably do it easily. It's extraordinarily frustrating trying to make complex driving mechanics and maps that involve vehicles when they get stuck on every corner they come across.

for some reason vehicles are a lot smoother on modter

as far as i know anyway

I absolutely agree. It also makes Speed Kart and other vehicle based game modes tough to take seriously or be competitive in. This along with lighting that actually works and precipitation that hits bricks are probably my three most desired updates.

Badspot has been doing a fine job updating the game frequently, if he wants to try something big like this that would be great but I appreciate that he's still spending time to fix other miscellaneous issues.

Larger collision boxes make things easier, or so I would assume.

it didn't act at all like blhack what are you talking about
.dlls have been released before and the authors weren't banned for posting them

I like Blockland physics. It being broken makes it less likely to criticize Blockland for not being "realistic enough" or something, like a bunch of people on Minecraft or other games.
Also it's just plain fun.
