Sval hears news of growing unrest on the Bret-Riga peninsula, apparently from a people called the Vaasa. Given their culture seems quite close to that of the Narvik, he sympathizes deeply with their quest for independence and considers that his king may too. Regardless, he pokes his head around the taverns in town to see if there are any soldiers willing to join him.
Sval strikes up a conversation with several Vaasan immigrants, displaced by the relatively recent conquest of their lands by the Masovian Empire. The 15 of them agree to help Sval reclaim their homeland.

Your band appears at the roll of a sandy hill overlooking the small farm enclave. From there you cannot accurately tell how many bandits are there, but you know it's enough to outnumber you.

I suppose just give your character a short bio for the time being
I'm still sorting out other kinks

muamed utters several foul phrases

He asks the farmers if they knew anything that could give them an advantage, EG terrain details, people to help them, weapon stores, et cetera

They know of no details relating to an advantage. The area is sand, save for the fertile coastline where they irrigate their farms. Any other civilians are trapped within their homes or dead. The most weapon cache-like thing they have is their tool shed, directly in the center of Labat.

it is a medieval roleplay

Investigate their main areas of expertise, including how good they are at fighting.

Short bio: Sval is quite good with an axe, but pretty trash with a sword or bow. However, his real specialty is in naval tactics. Also, he has a large black beard which is pretty badass.

Due to their previous training in the military, each man is handy with either a sword or bow. However, all of them fled their homeland before facing any real combat.

the course is clear then

muamed unsheaths his scimitar and screams down the cliff with his men, yelling out his favorite nasheed with various prayers interjected

perhaps the surprise and shock will carry them to victory, by Allah's admission

I go to every nation asking for a ship(s) to explore new lands and claim it for them. The age of Knights is over... Now is the age of EXPLORATION!

Muamed and his troops charge down the hill to face the bandits occupying Labat. They happen across a nearby band of armed brigands standing outside of a small mud house and quickly overwhelm them, collecting attention from the rest of the raiders. A few of the responding soldiers appear to be drunk, and so skewer easily on Muamed's scimitar. The remaining bandits attempt to retreat for their weapons, but are cut off by Muamed's footmen and driven to the banks of the Scipio River.

The surviving villagers scrounge up both food and coin for your efforts as thanks, as well as offering to treat your wounded.

Muamed refuses the payment, asking only for his wounded to be treated. He offers himself to train the villagers to defend themselves so bandits cannot trouble them again.

In the meantime he visits his men and congratulates them on the victory, showing special concern for his wounded

The fate of the captured bandits is left to the villagers

Carpaccian Empire as Adalwolf Braunau in Anzio

Pledge to king

Due to their previous training in the military, each man is handy with either a sword or bow. However, all of them fled their homeland before facing any real combat.
Well, that works.
Inquire His Majesty's government about an official charter to support the rebels (vassalship?). Narvik may not be at war with Masovia, but the frequent raidings ought to make them natural enemies. Perhaps even a deal with the Carpaccians could be formed... but then, what do I know?

Muamed refuses the payment, asking only for his wounded to be treated. He offers himself to train the villagers to defend themselves so bandits cannot trouble them again.
The villagers commend you for your honor and tend to your wounded. You spend some time teaching the other villagers basic defense before your men are ready to move.

The fate of the captured bandits is left to the villagers
They decide to hold them for ransom.

Carpaccian Empire as Adalwolf Braunau in Anzio

Pledge to king
Basileus Tiberius the Avaricious: What insult is this? Take you me for a sponge, my peasant? The Second Empire is more than capable of handling itself WITHOUT your person and his band of IMAGINARY FRIENDS. LEAVE MY COURT.

Inquire His Majesty's government about an official charter to support the rebels (vassalship?).
Jarl Harald the Guillotine: As much as I despise those Masovian dogs, I'd rather not get involved with a war against them. Due to your intentions, taking you as a vassal would mean a formal declaration of war against the Masovians, and I'm not interesting in such an agreement at this time.

Narvik may not be at war with Masovia, but the frequent raidings ought to make them natural enemies.
Jarl Harald the Guillotine: I do not see a need to sign you as a vassal at this time, however, if you'd like to work as a raider for me I would see no problem. Our coastal attacks aren't viewed as declarations of war so long as they're small and leave quickly.

Perhaps even a deal with the Carpaccians could be formed... but then, what do I know?
Jarl Harald the Guillotine: Hah! Don't insult the honor of my domain! I wouldn't poison my court with the blood of a Tebessan let alone those bastards whose precious empire we destroyed some time ago.

Muamed warns that it could attract a larger band of bandits to attack them. He suggests they go to a city and sell them to a slaver.

As soon as his wounded are tended to he sets off to Maqali Castle with his men.
