You can do that while in a vehicle, so maybe it's possible outside of them? I wouldn't know how though

I've tried and it is not possible when outside of a vehicle, but having a small client mod would be pretty neat

Letting you see your player from different angles, I guess. But there's really no point in doing this for first person. It'll be exactly the same as just looking there.

I just wanted tp have this. Mainly I got this idea while messing around in Arma 3.

Not if the weapon image's eyeOffset has anything to say about that Actually, i don't think the weapon would follow during free look

you still fire in the same direction you would be moving forward in
