It gets better, I had to install XP on a loving floppy. That's the only reason I still have a floppy drive.

going by the working space listed and that floppies can hold about 1.44MB of data, you would need about 195 floppies. going by the first total hard disk space that is required, you would need 1,032 floppies. going by the second one, you would need 1226 floppies.

going by this user's experience:

250+ floppies.

give us some proof that you installed XP on floppies, if you don't mind.

edit: unless you had another working computer with a floppy drive that enabled you to create the 6 setup disks mentioned on microsoft's website

I'm on Windows XP right now with no problems.
Lenevo Thinkpad T61 is a really beefy laptop though, so the only problems I encounter are not being able to run 64-bit Applications. I'll be installing windows 10 as soon as I get an external hard drive to move all my files onto for a clean hard drive wipe.

Honestly if you just teak it up a bit, you should be fine. There are more problems I have encountered with Windows 7 and 10 than XP. Specifically being Windows 7's need for enormous amounts of Physical Memory, and Windows 10's capability issues with games and hardware.
