Why are the tunnels maglev rail?

you want hubs? i'll give you some goddamn hubs

depots wherever

edit: time to stress test

Why are the tunnels maglev rail?

Dunno, probably something to do with a mod I downloaded

stress tested

my hub sucked

but yeah you may want to prioritize your bypass lines. you should do another design where the bypass lines don't change in elevation at all, since that seems to massively slow down maglev, at least in relation to their default speed (tunnels for the station lines instead)

actually nothing you can really do about it.

edit:
after some slight adjustments, i managed to make it fail more graciously

looks like this time the sheer amount of trains killed it, coupled with the stuffty placeholder signaling outside the main hub. i'm sure on a real line, rather than a stress test, it could probably hold a lot better.

you can steal it if you want. http://puu.sh/mpr0J/279545339d.png (ignore the depots. just place them where you see fit. signals may require slight tweaking.)

there are no monorails or maglevs now?

is this good for a railway of about 3-4 trains?
as of right now i only have 2 trains, but i plan on also making a line that goes from an iron mine to a steel mill, then to that factory. i'd also probably end up adding another station.
ignore the depot, messed that up

i like making a really safe terminus setup where trains can't crash into eachother at all

this is my basic terminus station design. you can probably make it a bit smaller, but i don't like having trains making 90 degree turns, so this is what i have

Having been inspired by Tudoreleu's in-line station designs I realised that it was something I had completely overlooked and decided to try designing my own. Here's the result, again in the largest configuration I can see myself using it in with trains for demonstration purposes:

we're absolutely killing everyone who has a small screen trying to browse this thread

I play the game in a 1920x1200 window :V

I tried playing it at 2560x1440 but there was just too much space that I wasn't using. So I decided to run it in a window instead

anyone know tomtom's steam?

That feel when something just makes sense. I set down to design an end station, ended up making probably the best in-line station design I'll ever manage

flip it

trains often go into depots before they go into stations. it's their way of being.
