Author Topic: What Makes You Keep Playing Blockland?  (Read 5843 times)

This has probably been asked before, but I want to know why you guys keep playing this 10 year old game? Is it the relationship you've made with it? Your friends? Personally, I just grew up playing Blockland, and I kind of treat the community almost like a family to me.

best building game i've ever played

A few reasons lol, one would be idk I kinda grew up with the game so it'd be like abandoning an old friend. I take long breaks every now and then but I always come back I cant seem to just leave it completely.

Another reason would be i start long projects that take so long to finish and if I were to leave bl it'd be like I just wasted my life on something that I no longer will either work on or play lol so I guess im just kinda stuck now, I guess once a blocklander always a blocklander.

i've been with the game for about 6 years so it's just always been there, and ive met lots of cool people on here

nostalgia for the most part. been here for 7 years

and i like designing stuff. roblox is also way too much for me. blockland is simple with just building and easy to use events

Something about the game keeps you to keep playing. There may not always be a bunch of servers up, but it always seems like there is something that you can build or do to keep the game exciting.

A sort of nostalgia value, I have had the game for eight years so it reminds me of simpler times in my life since my life is not that good right now. Building is a tranquil experience, its hard to describe but being able to sit and not really move yet being able to construct things out of muscle memory calms me. Along with this sessions for how long I build normally last a few hours. I guess in short the reasons I keep playing is because I am yet to find something that gives me the same sense of satisfaction.

Eventing mainly, tho another huge motivation is my need to get all the achievements in Boss Battles

The hope that someday I'll be a genuinely contributing member of the community instead of a leach that feeds on the toil of others.
