Author Topic: Are interiors/maps ever coming back?  (Read 2353 times)

caused bugs, so unless these get fixed they're not coming back. Besides, gamemodes are cool anyways.

Still not worth the stuff shaders and no development, plus gamemodes just make things slightly easier and about 5% of servers use them anyway

replacing maps won't magically bring back development since this game is pretty clearly currently devless
all it would do is make this game look (even more) outdated again, despite the fun factor of maps

didn't you code the drugs thing in cityrpg?
Sorry, you're thinking of another moppy.

Really, would looking outdated be a problem? What with the low poly art style, graphics have never been a big selling point. And would better graphics really be worth ripping out one of the core(ok, maybe not core, but important) components of the game?
Also,
Could someboy link me or direct me to this map compatable v20 everyone is talking about so I can get it?

it would when literally every other game excluding roblox looks 5 years more modern than BL

plus since map removal people have been forced to learn how to build better to make up for maps and that in itself has improved the overall quality of bl builds. sure, skiing maps don't really exist anymore, but at least the server list isnt clogged by 10 slopes tdm servers which all dont give a good initial impression to new players

sigh idk i can argue both sides of this, but its not going to happen

Noone's saying new maps have to look like stuff

Of course you wouldn't just add the old system back

if that is the case hell loving yes maps should come back

i noticed all the original maps are basically heightmaps due to how tork does maps - if there was proper non-static-shape support for things like caves n stuff that would be fantastic

oh we can dream

Are there any other games that house a function similar to that? Because if we can find one, maybe we can *cough* borrow *cough* some of its well executed code to allow such a thing.

By the time maps were removed most people were using slate anyways

I'd say it was worth it

Balderdash, Heedicalking's deathmatch and Pecan's Boss Battles didn't use slate.

for building, yeah, but building is not even close to the only thing people do in this game

Pecan Pie's Boss Battles switched over to using a slate edit once the bedroom map was replaced with Hanger.

They only switched when the bedroom was taken away.
