The first segment in their "mission statement":

Quote
For centuries, mankind knew all there was to know about the shape of the Earth. It was a flat planet, shaped roughly like a circle, with lots of pointy things hanging down from the underside. On the comparatively smooth topside, Europe sat in the middle of the circle, with the other continents scattered about the fringes, and parts of Africa hanging over the edge. The oceans lapped against the sides of the Earth, and in places ran over, creating currents that would pull over the edge ships that ventured too far out to sea. The space beyond the edge of the world was a dark realm inhabited by all sorts of unholy beasts. Fire and brimstone billowed up from the very depths of hell itself and curled 'round the cliffs whose infinite length jutted straight down to the darkest depths . . . .

Then, in the year of our Lord fourteen-hundred and ninety-two, it all changed. For decades a small band of self-proclaimed "enlightened" individuals had been spouting their heretical nonsense that the Earth was in fact round. Citing "proof" based on nothing more than assumptions, half-truths and blind guesses, they dazzled the populace with their " . . . undeniable mathematical and scientific evidence . . . that the world is shaped not like a pancake, but an orange!"

Rightly wishing to dispel notions regarding the alleged citrus-like shape of our planet, the Church was able to either silence or execute nearly all the fanatics. But a small handful remained, continuing to spread their blasphemous speeches and to promote their heretical ideals involving the very center of the universe. One of their number, who called himself Grigori Efimovich, would later be known to the rest of the world as Christopher Columbus. Using an elaborate setup involving hundreds of mirrors and a few burlap sacks, he was able to create an illusion so convincing that it was actually believed he had sailed around the entire planet and landed in the West Indies. As we now know, he did not. What Efimovich actually did was sail across the Atlantic Ocean to a previously undiscovered continent, North America, and even then only to a small island off the coast. It took him several years more even to "discover" his blunder and claim it as a " . . . new world". But the damage had already been done, and mankind entered into what we now call its "Dark Ages" . . . .

discuss these wackadoodles.

didn't realize these types of people still exist

I think theres decent motivation behind this conspiracy. If space missions weren't actually real you would be able to spend the billions that go to space missions on any other sort of nefarious thing.

But the evidence is damningly clear that Earth is a sphere lol

One of their arguments is that if you were to fire a cannon straight up, the ball would travel from the original point because if the earth is round then it would spin while the ball is in air.

another is because water will always lay flat on any surface, if the earth is round then the water would all float off into space.

OH and in order for a plane to keep an elevation of 16,000 feet or whatever, they would have to be constantly adjusting their pitch downward or else they'd fly off into space.

Argument Five - Difficulties in maintaining a functional Earth-bound atmosphere and ocean

1) The fluid problem

Water. Regardless of which train of thought you follow, it covers over seventy-five percent of our planet's surface. And the atmosphere, also a fluid, covers the entire surface. The difference is why. While flat-Earthers know that the ocean is really just a large bowl, (with great sheets of ice around the edges to hold the ocean back), and the atmosphere is contained by a large dome, the backwards "round-Earth" way of thinking would have you believe that all those trillions of gallons of water and air just "stick" to the planet's surface.

Conventional thinking would suggest that the water would just run down the sides of the Earth (to use the brown townogy again, like droplets running down the sides of a beach ball) and fall into outer space, while the air would dissipate. Using the earlier mentioned idea of "gravitational charge" gives some credibility to the theory. If the fluids were static, then exposure to the gravitational field for a long enough period of time would allow their molecules to align themselves with and be pulled in by the field.

But fluids are not static, especially not in the atmosphere and oceans. Great ocean currents run both at the surface and deep below, carrying water across huge basins, keeping the solution far from stagnant. Jet streams of air travel at hundreds of miles per hour through the atmosphere. And windblown rainclouds carry vast quantities of evaporated seawater across miles of ground, releasing their load far from its starting point. Water or air that (according to "round-Earth" theory) starts on one side of the planet could end up completely on the other side in a matter of only a few days. With all this turbulence and motion, if the world were round, the oceans should all fall "down" into the sky, leaving the planet dry and barren, and the atmosphere would simply float away. Why, just look at the moon. It is round, like a ball, and yet it has no atmosphere at all.

for most of these people it's just a really weird trolling thing. but I'm sure there are people who unfortunately believe this stuff for real...

I heard somewhere (some TV programme I think?) that a lot of Flat Earth societies don't actually believe it, they're just keeping the argument going for the sake of debate.

this is a joke
everyone knows the earth is an infinite cube

flaw in ur theory: explain how something can be both infinite and of a determinable shape

One of their arguments is that if you were to fire a cannon straight up, the ball would travel from the original point because if the earth is round then it would spin while the ball is in air.

another is because water will always lay flat on any surface, if the earth is round then the water would all float off into space.
All of their "arguments" make no sense at all and are easily debunked. For example, they claim that the sun is only like 90 some miles above the surface and a few miles across, and shines in a spotlight.

There are DOZENS of problems with this.

flaw in ur theory: explain how something can be both infinite and of a determinable shape
because it is also infinitely far away and we can see it there

everybody knows that the earth is in a klein bottle shape

i don't know whether this is satire or actual belief

Its too in depth to be a troll. Its way too much effort, no troll has the attention span to make a website and come up with all these arguments.

ima guess some really handicapped satire here
