strange short bursts of lag happening with my games

all of my multiplayer steam games (tf2, blockland, etc) have frequent short bursts of lag which make the games really hard to play

help?

1. yes, but it has only been doing this for the past two days. i have been using wireless for a few months and rarely had lag issues
2. no. nobody else in my house is using the internet, and i don't have anything on in the background
