Author Topic: my mother got in a car accident  (Read 1789 times)

Thats a serious problem you should address
how exactly? she doesn't listen to us about anything, she's still thinking of moving house which is 100% counter productive to loving anything despite my brother not talking to her anymore over it

she is very dense and I can't get through to her, that's the problem

Where I live there is turns so sharp that I've seen drift-cars go into a ditch when the roads are wet and we are still capable of making the curves going 30-35 without a hitch.

Speed limits are enforced for a reason, when someone breaks that limit and won't even listen to the passengers, then she is deliberately endangering your lives

Thats a serious problem

stupid question but asking anyways: would CPS work in that situation?

Anything that involves children and endangerment is means for CPS intervention. Trust me, I've dealt with them more than I want to.

then it should be considered.

That really sucks. Sounds like there are some holes in her story. People who are not good drivers should never drive fast. One question though: do you know the condition of the car's tires? Bad tires in the rain, especially on a rear wheel drive car, are not good.

Ironically, I was almost in a wreck today too but it wouldn't have been my fault.

There, you guys crash at 30mph. Here, we manage to not crash at a reckless 160km/h with fog and slippery roads.

oh and my dad has gone to lengths to stop her from going over 60MPH, including opening the car bonnet and tweaking it so the car does not go over 60MPH, my mother got extremely pissed over this so my dad had to undo the changes so it goes 100MPH again

the last thing I want is being taken away from her, which I'm not sure if they'll do that or not

I really really don't want to call the authorities on my own mother, it's dangerous as hell what she's doing I know

there are even new laws in place here that prohibit you from smoking in cars with children in them, but rest assured she's ignoring those and I've been around 2nd hand smoke pretty much all my life

as if I need your advice on driving and safety

Tell your mum that her driving scares you, and you're afraid to get in the car with her if she keeps speeding.

Last week my mom got pulled over so my grandpa had to drive the car home. He's half paralyzed so he kept swerving (effectively getting us pulled over) and when we got to the dangerous part he put us in a ditch but was able to pull out before we hit the bad part. The entire time I just kept going 'left, left, left LEFT LEFT LEFT'

1 person =/= everyone. You can ask Foxscotch about drivers where I live, he'll tell you how crazy they are. And surprisingly they rarely wreck unless they are on a curvy road

Tell your dad to remod it and that your mom can get over it. Safety comes first

I can't believe you are actually going to just accept she does this. To help you understand what were looking at, imagine you are in an abusive relationship and we are trying to get you out of it, thats what it feels like

sounds to me like this has been going on for a long time maxwell, and now after all this bitching from her and her having to get her way or no way, the chickens are coming home to roost
