I was going to ask why does W exist.It's the only letter in the alphabet that is pronounced differently.A as in "Ae"B as in "Be"C as in "Ce"W as in "Double U"

W is currently the only English letter whose name is not pronounced with any of the sounds that the letter typically makes.
C actually does have a unique sound but it requires the presence of H to form the 'chuh' sound at the beginning of words like Church and Challenge. Without C there would be no way to make the sound difference between Chan and Khan.
