The defensive pact exists in response to somewhat recent activity from Avalonia (et al)

Avalonia has no ax to grind with Kyrev.  I'm just looking to make sure that when the word anchluss is used in reference to Avalonia, there's enough fanatic patriotism and military force on my land to repel enemy forces, or at least slow them down long enough to regroup and then repel.  Sure I'd have done more to help Arcon in its ill fated military expeditions if I could have, but that's not out of any hatred for Kyrev, only loyalty to its ally.

Avalonia pulls its usual measures to repair its dented economy: minor interventions in the form of slightly heightened tariffs, slightly subsidized industry, and slightly lowered taxes based on businesses based on number of employees.  Additionally, Avalonian firms involved in Arconian reconstruction hire more people, Avalonian and Arconian, as their repairs take them farther and farther North to where field reconstruction was less significant and battle damage was greater.  All are called on to render aid to their fellow man, Vjornsberg style.

Seris raises tariffs and duties on Avalonian finished goods as a protectionist measure. The Serisian legislature approves the Ministry of Finance's plan to provide subsidies in the form of reduced taxes for new businesses starting up in Seris. The budget includes a provision to reduce the public debt by buying back the bonds issued during the pandemic and lowering the number of military personnel.

The SerisIan government starts liberating the economy by loosening regulations on business practices, focusing more on consumer protection and worker safety.

The successful Estallum Shipping Company, which provides land transportation service, devises a new system of shipping goods over the seas. This new method involves putting goods into large steel containers and loading them with cranes onto transport ships or flatbed train cars. The system is immensely useful and becomes standardized, spreading across the entire country. With the construnction of new freighters by the Arcadian shipyards for the Serisian navy, shipping companies will be able to acquire new vessels ideal for use with the shipping container at a price subsidized by the government, through military development of the vessels. This helps spark the pursuit for ever better engine designs, pursuing different paths for more power and efficiency.

Avalonia, in keeping with its belief in matching foreign tariffs, raises tariffs on Serisian goods to match those imposed by Seris on Avalonian goods, and suggests that perhaps cooperation would be more productive than isolation.

The ideals of self-reliance, non-interventionalism, a shift back towards conservative morality, values and behavior and an overarching desire to work for the betterment of the people and of the nation strike a cord with the crowd, who end his speech with a standing ovation lasting nearly 20 minutes - in the storied walls of the Reichstag, the noise was nearly deafening.

Words are indeed cheap.  History isn't though.  Avalonia's military has only grown as the threats to Avalonia have multiplied, and it hasn't been my play style to invade other players "on a whim" for a long time.  Avalonia's only military action in this RP has been honoring the legitimacy of the CA and overthrowing the PNP.  Even in Anagaea II I sought peace with my player neighbors, Swat3 and I OOCly agreed to just not go to war despite being at each others' throats for decades.  And even if I did have plans to smash you, alone you could probably defend yourself against me with great success, let alone with the aid of Seris and/or Romekate.  That you consider me a threat is flattering, that you continue to do so despite my reassurances much less so.

Samaku Gun Works creates a subsidary for ammunition, under the name of Nambuko Ammunition... and with its founding comes with a new bullet design straying from the old spherical design. It's packed inside of a standard (neww) Nambuko cartridge with a rounded front with a flattened back with a gunpowder charge on the back. It's able to fit in a Yuanhe musket.

Surrender is accepted. Forces remain in the Gruzian territory as peacekeepers while the civilian sector begins to rebuild Gruzia. Administrative changes, besides a quickly thrown together occupating government, will not be done until Arcon's civil war is concluded.
