New tests conducted with the new and improved Yuanhe musket w/ paper catridge abd everything reveal a better fire rate than previously done.
Rifling continues to be investigated by Samaku Gun Works, and Samaku researchers discover a chemical which burns up the paper cartridge after use, annihilating the need to take out the cartridge after firing. Current rifling patterns are shallow in order to ease the amount of cleaning done after a successful shot.

as for the militias:

i hadn't realized they weren't under my command. very well, then. when news of the annexation reaches east arcon it is accompanied by orders towards romekate forces to dismantle the militias by any means necessary.

1.  But does it factor in the ≈1.4 million death toll within all provinces including recently-occupied E. Arcon?  Simple number crunching would suggest otherwise.

2.  Yeah I kinda expected that this could happen.  Romekate forces were not permitted to control the entirety of the forts either.  At least 40% of forces in forts were Arconian militias.  Municipal occupation forces were also primarily militias.  Multiple forces were to stay on guard in watchful positions both in the event of PNP and foreign threat.  Additionally, one thing that was held in solidarity, is that if another nation's forces were to occupy Arconian land, the Arconian forces were to unite and later solve their squabbles.  Kind of like how Kyrev unified during what I like to call the "Southern Squabble Period."

The militias on the ground would immediately engage the Romekati forces.  Marksmen in watchful positions would target commanding officers.  Soldiers in areas with substantial artillery presence are also marked.

The Arconian Militia Collective (The new national standing army outside of E. Arcon) does not yet move into the territory, but does not release any information regarding its intention of whether or not to take control.

Yes I'm aware, lol. I'm talking about engine and rifles mostly. Quick-loading rifles were definitely not mass produced or used a lot and internal combustion engines made before 1900 didn't REALLY matter.

In any case:
