Avalonian prospectors and entrepreneurs make their way into Avalonia's Southeastern frontier in search of business opportunity among locals and their natural resources. A number of Avalonians also head to foreign lands to set up small businesses in various fields such as tinkering, tailoring, and other small things that for the most part could provide secondary but not direct support to wartime efforts, sending money and mail back to families and others in Avalonia. These people, for the most part, were not landowners in Avalonia, and were thus left out of the political process (Avalonia's limited lands can only support so much ownership, although a significant portion of the population does own land), but don't harbor resentment and are still patriots. The emigration is offset by immigration from war-torn lands, but the national assembly, worried, begins to consider allowing non-landowning men to participate in politics.
