Your rifles are not affecting the siege guns to any successful degree.  Your artillery is being shot at by the siege guns, slowing down their effectiveness, but not halting it.

Also, in the battlefield, which was mainly mild dunes or flat land, what cover could be taken from the siege gun barrage?  By the time the Arconian force spotted the approaching Kyrevian force, they would have taken up positions and anchored in.  It's this initial loss and lack of means to deal with it at the beginning before the Georgian force arrived that coated the most.

But whatever.  I have my reasons for star ratings, and will put it back to 3, but I just want you to remember, this is just a game, and I really don't like this petty star bickering.  It makes you seem like a princess, imo...
