Author Topic: are there games like dayz that aren't totally broken?  (Read 1280 times)

i like dayz, but it's so hard to play for me because of unoptimization and it's basically abandoned.

well theres the actual mod and related mods to that

infestation: survivor stories
just a prank, bro.

There's an Arma 3 mod called Breaking Point which is similar in gameplay mechanics but it has a different feel to it. It's less tense than Dayz because it doesn't take weeks of your life to get a respectable inventory, but fights and clashes between players and zombies are much more unforgiving.
Maybe it's not doable for you, but I would recommend trying it if you have Arma 3 and a decent computer (though it runs better than Dayz on a better engine).

The Division when it comes out.
DayZ focuses the most on players anyways, so the darkzone is basically DayZ.

I've got hundreds of early access zombie survival games..
Right now the only one I would want to play is Unturned.

unturned
beware: under certain conditions melee players and zombies may gain the mutation "Long Arms"

Unturned isn't too bad, the only issues are the servers being ass, the dev being a bit thick and it needing some major fixes

No, the DayZ concept in itself is loving handicapped but every ambitious indie friend wants a slice of the pie that even Bohemia Interactive couldn't pull off. So you basically get one pile of garbage and several rip-off piles of garbage that each do a worst job than the last. examples include H1Z1, WarZ, ect. The forget even is DayZ anyway? I tried playing it again the other day and I ended up spending several hours walking around doing loving nothing until I had all sorts of crazy military gear and more baked beans than I could ever possibly need. And then you get your head blown off by some guy you didn't see and you start all over. I hope that 'Escape from Tarkov' game or whatever it's called doesn't follow DayZ too closely and actually has some sort of functional gameplay element other than 'walk from point A to B for no reason at all'.

What gameplay elements are you looking for from DayZ OP? Zombies? Permadeath? The hardcore aspect? Survival (managing hunger + stuff)? Truth be told I want to recommend STALKER: Call of Pripyat with the Misery 2.1 modification to you, because it's the closest thing to DayZ I can think of that actually retains some form of entertainment. It's nowhere near the same scale (it's also singleplayer) but I'd rather play on a small populated map than 30 billion square miles of jack stuff.

Misery is really really good. Its what dayz wishes it could be. If you still really want the dayz size, look into ArmA 3 mods. DayZ standalone is garbs

speaking of DayZ:

literally just sent to me now
