Author Topic: is it me or is square enix is the best game dev company out there right now?  (Read 3721 times)

i think valve is trying to become hardware devs now

Ill try not to be biased on this:

SE is pretty much one of the only top dog game companies that dont doa  scumbag move every once in a while.
While not for everyone, SE is arguably the king of JRPG. You hear RPG/JRPG, you think Final Fantasy
They ARE lacking IMO in the other genres though, which somewhat limits them from being truely compared with EA, Activision, and Ubisoft.

Keep in mind Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Deus Ex were Edios Interactive, which SE bought. Before 2009 (Including Square with this) A lot of their games were RPGs.

Dunno what im going with here actually, I just started writing.

SE is definitely one of the top big time game companies.

It's just become so formulaic and repetitive the subscriber count has diminished so much that they no longer release that information to the public. That and being able to pay money to have your character leveled up to max level instantly really turned the remaining old-timers off.
oh believe me the level boost doesn't bother us since we agreed that the levelling is so stuffty now it's a necessary evil.

you know those stuffty flash idle games? that's what garrisons are.

and there's usually 4 patches in an expansion. wod only had 1, yes 1. it says 6.2 but it's actually 1 patch.

unless you count selfie cameras and a singular raid as patch worthy. 6.2 is essentially 6.1, case closed on that.
tanaan jungle was alright but it required more patches to keep us interested, also the legendary ring didn't help any with a 44% DAMAGE INCREASE FOR 15 SECONDS THAT ALSO EXPLODES FOR 44% OF ALL DAMAGE DEALT DURING THOSE 15 SECONDS.

That and being able to pay money to have your character leveled up to max level instantly really turned the remaining old-timers off.
I haven't seen a single person complain about it.
It's not max level, it's level 90; the start of the expansion's content.
The people who buy it are the people who have been playing forever and don't feel like leveling another character through all the content they've seen countless times.
It would be different if wow was a game about leveling, but it's not. It's a game about what you do at max level. And you're not buying any advantage at max level

Torn Banner best studio
I mean taleworlds
Torn banner is kind of gay

"Square Enix you are like the George Lucas of video games!" - Jesse Cox

lol
okay, watch dogs was stuffty, I'll give you that.  but I've had fun with the rest of their games.

lol

the rayman games

though, while typing this, i remembered that i haven't been able to play rayman legends for a while now because uplay is experiencing some sort of connection error that prevents me from accessing my games

so yeah, ubisoft is absolute garbage

rayman was my life way back then :(

RIP~

Not sure if anybody has mentioned it but their "augment your preorder" thing was pretty sketchy and anti-consumer.

I can confirm two things for you.

You're a twat, and you're wrong. Saying stuff like "you know why" is not a forgetin' valid argument. Square Enix also does horrible stuff; almost Nintendo levels of bad.

hey guys i think Traveler's Tales is a good dev company i just love all the creativity in them!!!

Well, they are a good company. They're just being forced into formula by the publisher.

Also, I still think Blizzard is one of the better companies out there if you exclude what they are doing to WoW.

1. Top quality games, polished massively before release.
2. (Opinionated) Good games.
3. Some of the best and most friendly costumer support around.
4. Generally very responsive to community.
5. (Edit) One of the earlier pioneers in the eSports community.
